Teresa Dawn White peacefully left this world to reside with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 23, 2008.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island, Teresa touched the lives of so many during her 49 years on earth. Blessed with a servant's heart, she spent much of her life serving others, from her entrepreneurial spirit that led her to open two businesses, Savannah's Tea Room and TDB Controls, Inc., to her service with the women's ministry "Heart to Heart," a program she pioneered at Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Tampa, FL. Teresa also mentored and cared for young adolescent girls at the United Methodist Children's Home in Milton, FL. Most recently, she served as a sales manager for EmCo Consulting. During her time in Pensacola, she was a faithful member of Perdido Bay United Methodist Church.
In addition to her service, Teresa was also a miraculous inspiration. Having suffered a massive heart attack in June of 2007, she lost 80% of her heart's function and was not expected to survive. Through the prayers of so many and the grace of God, as well as the dedicated staff of Baptist Health Care, not only did she fully recover, but she also dedicated the rest of her life to increasing women's awareness of heart disease through her partnership with Baptist Health Care and the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Bill Blair.
Those who will love and miss her include her three children, Tamara Hall, Pensacola, FL, Tina White, Greensboro, GA, and Michael White (Kimmy); Middleburg, FL; her Momma and Daddy, Morris and Beverly Brooks of Pensacola, FL; her sister, Melanie Schaubroeck (Rodney), Tanzania; her brothers, Gary Brooks (Susan); Silverdale, WA and Stephen Brooks (Rachel) of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Alexis, Roemell, Ashley, and Knicklaus; and seven nieces and nephews, Michael, Matthew, Shannon, Caleb, Joshua, Garrett, and Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Perdido Bay United Methodist Church, 13660 Innerarity Point Road, Pensacola, FL with the Reverends Jack deJarnette and Stan Beatty officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Teresa's honor to the American Heart Association or Perdido Bay United Methodist Church.
