Graduated from RRHS in 1964 and went to the University of Mississippi, majoring in Journalism and English. After college, I worked for the Florida Times Union in Jacksonville as a news photographer, and then went into sales (journalism is very noble but didn't pay very well back then) and have been doing that ever since. For the past few years, I have been an executive recruiter for the packaging, label and printing industries.

My daughter Melinda was born in 1982. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and is now married to Ross Hileman and lives in Fleming Island (this part was Orange Park), FL.

After living in Jacksonville, Chicago, Atlanta, Appleton (WI) and the Minneapolis area, I moved to Cary, NC in 2007 to enjoy the warmer weather and to be closer to family.

My mother has been living in Fleming Island, FL since my Dad retired from the Navy in 1964. Dad passed away on Christmas Day of 2001. My sister Alexa Weir moved back to Florida in late 2003 to be with Mom and works for Quigley House (a women’s shelter). My brother Bill, purchasing agent for Rosen Aviation, lives in Eugene, OR with his wife, 3 grown kids, a grandchild and a changing number of horses, along with a few Newfoundland “puppies”.
