I attended Roosey during my Sophomore and Junior years, 1969
through 1971. Since my dad was Army, I lived off base first in Punta Santiago (Humacao
Beach) and then in Fajardo. We left PR prior to my Senior year, much to my
displeasure, and I did a four year tour with the Air Force briefly ending back
up in PR at Ramey AFB where I ran into a few Roosey underclassmen at a Ramey vs.
Roosey game. I eventually ended up with the U.S. Customs Service, Office of
Investigations, as a Criminal Investigator. I met my wife Julie while working
for Customs on the Organ Pipe National Monument, in Arizona, where she was
working under a work/study program, for her Biology major, during her Senior
year of college our of Iowa. I am presently the Resident Agent in Charge for the
Robles Junction, Sells and Ajo, Arizona offices. We have two daughters, one a
Junior at the University of Arizona and one just graduating from High School in
Tucson. I wrestled for Roosey (the grapplers as Arch!
ie Benton called us) on the 1971 team. Although I did not graduate from Roosey,
the few years there where some of my fondest. It was the smallest school I had
ever attended, yet one with the biggest heart and strongest school spirit and
student body unity. I still have the 1970 year book, a few game spirit pins and
a page or two of one or two issues of the school paper. I'll eventually scan
some of these and submit for sharing. Hearing about and finding this site was a
nice surprise. Cheers, Rene`
