CHARLES EDWARD"CHUCK" WILSON SR.

1931-2003

Charles Edward "Chuck" Wilson Sr., BMC USN Ret., age 71, of Pace, died October 9, 2003. He was a native of Donaldsonville, Georgia and had resided here since 1991.

Mr. Wilson was retired from the United States Navy with 23 years of service and also was a retired School Teacher. He was a graduate of the Inter American University in Puerto Rico, was a member of the Whiting Field Golf Association and was a Member and Trustee of The Woodbine Baptist Church in Pace.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucy Wilson; three sons, Charles E. "Chuck" Wilson, Jr., James W. "Jimmy" (Anita) Wilson, Robert "Bobby" (Sandra) Wilson; three grandchildren, Jessica Marie Wilson, Jillian Selenia Wilson, Joshua Robert Wilson; four sisters, Juanita Sparks, Jewel Knight, Patricia Geren, Sybil Sawyer; three brothers, Larry Wilson, Jerry Wilson and Eddie Wilson.

Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be conducted at 12:15 P.M. Thursday, October 14, 2003 from the Chapel of the Donnie Sowell Funeral Home in Milton. Rev. David Lewis, Pastor of Woodbine Baptist Church, Assisted by Captain David Atwater, USN Chaplain, will officiate with interment and full military honors at 2:00 P.M. at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Rick Humphreys, Clyde Chaffin, Larry Padgett, Lamar Rawson, Mark Taghon and Joe Wildes.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made the the Building Fund of the Woodbine Baptist Church, 4912 Woodbine Road, Pace, FL. 32571.
