Marcia Wing Steidle
Marcia returned to Pensacola, FL following graduation where she met her husband,
Rear Admiral Craig Steidle, when he was first attending Navy flight training.
She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minor
in Journalism at the University of Maryland and has worked as a Realtor for 19
years. Marcia and her husband currently reside in Annapolis, MD where he teaches
aerospace engineering at the US Naval Academy. They have three children:
Gretchen, whose nonprofit deals with women's and children's issues in third
world countries (www.globalgrassroots.org), Brian, a former Captain in the US
Marine Corps who photographed the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. He and his sister,
Gretchen, wrote a book and made a documentary about his experiences, "The
Devil Came on Horseback," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and
is now playing in public theaters. Marcia's youngest son, Eric, a Ltjg in the US
Navy, is serving on a destroyer squadron on the USS Kitty Hawk out of Japan.
Marcia and her husband enjoy sailing their 1953 40 ft. Concordia yawl in their
spare time.
