Joe L. Blansit

Married to Elisabeth Blansit for 20 years this October 2001

Home in Woodstock, GA for over 16 years

After High School worked for RCA at Roosevelt Roads until I joined the US Army. I became a Nike Hercules Radar Mechanic and stayed in until 1975. After I was discharged from the Army I went back to school at the University of North Florida were I received a BBA degree in Management.

I worked in Nuclear Power Plants until 1992 and then switched careers to the automotive industry. I started out working on the launch of the Dodge Ram pickup truck and moved on to work with Ford and General Motors on Several projects.

My recent travels have taken me to Shanghai, China were I was involved in the planning and construction of a new plant for GM to build a car for the Chinese market. I moved on from there to an assignment in Mexico were I was involved with a plant expansion to build a new car for the US market. You know the car as the AZTEC.

I went from Mexico to Brazil were Ford was getting ready to build a new plant for the Brazilian market. It was very similar to the Chinese project with the exception of the people, food, and beach. I lived about 200 yards from the beach and it brought back a lot of memories.

At this time I am in Ann Arbor, Michigan working on several projects and trying to get over the snow. I left Brazil were it was 85 degrees and came to Ann Arbor were it was 10 degrees.
