I attended RR schools from 1st through 9th grades, with a brief break during my 6th grade year while dad opened an Officer's Club in Newport, Rhode Island.  Upon my return, I participated in every athletic activity a girl could get into from 7th through 9th, was a member of the band, loved hanging out at the beach between enlisted and officer's quarters (remember the great parties?), and enjoyed the field trips to the Lamb's beautiful home on their hillside off-base.  Hearing the news, that my Dad was retiring and we were moving to the states nearly devastated me.  I even tried to get Principal Smith to adopt me!  What a great life I had...being a kid at Roosevelt Roads NAB.  Do any of you remember how crazy my dad got with the BLUE Christmas lights all over the house and yard?  Pilots said they could see that stuff for miles.  Oh well, I guess I should consider it lucky for a Navy brat to have stayed in one place for that long.

High school continued in the USA.  I stayed very involved at Kempsville High School in VA Beach, Virginia, graduated in 74, but never got over leaving the RRHS family I grew to love.  College wasn't for me after graduation so I became a lounge singer and I saw some of you all over the east coast and in St. Thomas where I performed very well at Frenchman's Reef but later bombed on the island's local television station.  Singing lasted until I decided to get a real job so I went back to college in 1980.  I graduate with honors from Norfolk State University in 1983 (I was very serious about my education) and became a radio news anchor until I married in 1985. Later I moved to New Jersey, the husband worked in NYC,  and I changed careers after completing certification classes at William Patterson University.  I am now a mother of 2 children, Olivia (3-89) and Charles (9-90), single again, and loving my career as a teacher since 1988.  I hope to see you at future reunions.  I'll be the person wearing the great, big smile.  God Bless!
