What I've been up to since leaving Roosy:

I enlisted in the Air Force in 1981 as a personnel specialist.  I was stationed to Cheyenne, Wyoming (1982-1985) and then San Antonio, Texas (1985-1991).  I received my commission as a 2Lt in 1991.  I have had the opportunity to do many interesting jobs since getting commissioned.  I have been an ICBM launch officer in Wyoming (1991-1995), working underground in launch facilities in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado.  I  have been a space surveillance officer at Pirinclik, Turkey (1995-1996).  Only 90 miles from Iraq and 100 miles from Iran.  A very interesting location with a lot of history!  Next, I was a spacelift officer at Cape Canaveral AS, Florida (1996-1999).  I launched un-manned Titan IV vehicles with satellites.  One of the most memorable aspects of this job was being on the launch crew where I was responsible for the Centaur upperstage on the Cassini mission which is currently on its way to Saturn for exploration of that planet and one of its moon, named Titan.  Another great moment from this job was being on the deck of a cruise ship getting ready to sail to the Bahamas and watching the space shuttle with John Glenn lift off into space.  I was able to witness many shuttle launches first hand while stationed here.  I currently work in SPACEAF at Vandenberg AFB in California (1999-pres).  I am the chief of spacelift operations responsible for two launch wings and the integration of our new launch vehicles.  I anticipate retiring next year after 20 years of military service and starting my next career.  I can not believe it has been 23 years since I graduated.  I now have a son that is older than I was when I graduated.  That will wake you up!!
