Eddie Urbati
Eddie lives with his family in Utah
Well, I was stationed at Roosevelt Roads from 1970-1975. My
father worked at
PUBLIC WORKS on base and we ended up living in the South Delicious housing,
just up the road from the base water supply! We were in a small housing
development with about 6 houses, down the street Dennis and Mike Birtwhistle
lived. Mike and I hung out, and My Sister Debbie and Dennis were friends.
Roosevelt Roads lives with me today and I have nothing but fond memories;
some include Family Beach, Teen-Club, Motor Cycle riding, fishing off the
Aircraft Pier; trips to the rain Forrest; trips to old San Juan; catching the
Navy WFU over to Viegas Island to fish and snorkel. How about raising hell
in Family Housing or the forbidden Officers housing as my father was
enlisted?
My father was relocated to Gulfport Miss; I graduated from Harrison Central
High School in Gulfport Miss. I joined the USAF 1976 and was sent to Guam,
left the service in 1982 and decided to become a civilian. I followed my
first wife to CO-CO Beach Florida were I reentered the service 1986. I went
to Ramstein Germany and enjoyed five fun years there, I traveled Europe and
saw the sites. I met my current wife Shiela there, she was also in the USAF
at the time. We moved to Utah and I worked at the 75th Medical Group as a
Medical Service Specialist, mostly Emergency Services but also Same Day
Surgery and Family Practice. I retired from the USAF Oct 00, and became a
Civil Servant working in the clinic. At this time I am attempting to find
work in Northern Florida or Biloxi Mississippi with the Veterans
Administration. I need to get back south and leave Utah and get my family
closer to Dad/Mom in Gulfport Mississippi. I now go by Chet or Chester as
the USAF forced me to use my proper name and I am used to being called Chet
when not back home.
