After high school I studied Chemical Engineering at University of Puerto
Rico - Mayaguez Campus and graduated in 1999. After dating for four
years, I married that same summer my best friend and life partner. I
immediately went to work for Dept of State's Foreign Service as a
Security Engineering Officer and worked in DC for two years. I was
then transferred to Beijing, China where we lived for two great years,
2001-2003. After that I was transferred to Athens, Greece for two
awesome years, 2003-2005, and was able to go to many of the Olympic
games. We had to be sent back due to my pregnancy, but everything
worked out okay and I gave birth in Dec 2005 to a mischievous little girl
named Inarú Isabel Beatriz Correa in Washington, DC. My husband is a
professor at George Washington University, and we just moved to
Alexandria, VA.
I will be in the DC-area for a few years, if anybody is in the area, let me
know. I will be starting graduate school full time in August.
All in all, I am very happy. Life has been very kind and generous to me.
I never thought I would marry and have kids, I thought that
kind of stuff got in the way of life and work and a career. Huh!
It's work and careers that get in the way of life. I am having a
wonderful time learning the meaning of life from my daughter and my husband...
