Bob Kay, Class of '66
I am married to a beautiful Georgia lady and we will have our 25th
anniversity this year. We have a 14-year old son who is in 9th
grade this year.
I have worked with the Centers for Disease Control/Agency for Toxic Substances
and Disease Registry and US EPA for the past 36 years as a Environmental
Health Scientist. I obtained by B.S in Geology at Florida State
University ('70) with minors in chemistry, physics and biology. I
received my MPH from the University of Illinois Medical Center ('77), Chicago,
IL in environmental health sciences and completed my doctorate (DrPH) in
health policy and management at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School
of Public Health ('04), Baltimore, MD. For my doctoral research I
conducted a national epidemiological study of house fires:
"Determinants of Death and Injury in House Fires." The photos
include my wife Linda and son Robby; we were visiting Gilbrator after I
led a CDC-training team in Seville, Spain (2000).
I still swim butterfly, crawl and breaststroke, but much slower. My
favorite hobbies/sports are gardening, snorkeling/ catching and eating mullet,
studying and playing chess, and playing and coaching badminton. My wife and I
served as judges for the badminton venue in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta..
