Annie Jo Lathran (Fulcher)

These days I go by ‘AJ’
October 2005
It’s been so many years!
My family moved from Roosey Roads in the fall of my senior year
---Bummer! First moving to
Jacksonville
,
FL
for two months then on to
Patuxent River
,
MD
where I graduated in 1967. I
attended college in
Maryland
and worked in
Washington
,
D.C.
Leonard (my wonderful husband) and
I married in 1971. By the way,
he’s a navy brat too. Soon after
marrying we moved to southern
Spain
for a while then to
Phoenix
,
AZ.
We’ve lived in the valley on and
off since 1973. Leonard is an
Electrical Engineer/Project Manager and retired from Honeywell in Sept 2005. His
projects moved us to
Philadelphia
,
Tucson
and
Seattle
. We could have moved to
Saudi Arabia
in the late 1990’s----so-glad we didn’t!
Our daughter Tabitha is 32 and teaches grade school.
Granddaughter
Taylor
is 5 and is in kindergarten.
I’ve kept busy doing school and hospital volunteer work
and recently joined the American Red Cross.
I enjoy snow skiing the
Rockies
, amateur photography, antiquing for
Limoges
and shopping----so many stores, so little time……J
Leonard and I have always had the “travel bug” and have
ventured to
Europe
several times with our vagabond buddies. We’ve
also had fun throughout the
Caribbean
,
Hawaii
,
Morocco
,
Mexico
,
Turkey
and
Canada
. Oh yeah, Japan too.
Our families say we live out of a suitcase, but as long as we are able,
we’ll go! On one of our trips to
Puerto Rico
we managed to get on base to check out some of the old haunts.
I was surprised to see barracks standing where our high school used to
be! Oh well, things change
eventually, but I’ll always have fond memories.
