I was
your basic high school misfit, but had a great group of friends who put up with
all my goofyness! I'll probably never live down the whole National Spelling Bee
thing -- especially ending up as the "agony of defeat" on national news (LOL).
I left Puerto Rico to go back to Florida in '82, where I graduated from
Jacksonville's Wolfson High School. I then went on to FSU, where I got a BS in
media production, with a double-minor in music and theatre -- had a fantastic
time learning nothing too practical but acquired some skills and friends for
life.
I've spent the past 11 years since working in the media in South Florida and
Dallas as a publicist, columnist, and magazine editor, then relocated to Seattle
in 1995 to found my small PR firm (www.paranoidpr.com). After 6+ years in
Seattle promoting bands and production companies (and singing jazz myself around
the city for fun), I relocated to California's Eastern Bay area in 2001 to push
some of my personal writing efforts, and to refound my PR firm after a 2 year
merger.
I'm now planning a 1-year stint in South Florida on assignment in April 02 -- I
see some familiar names, so drop me a line and say hello!
